Born and raised in B.C. James is an active bassist in the local jazz and creative music communities (Peggy Lee, Ron Samworth, Bruno Hubert, Monk’s Music) while also playing with many local songwriters and rock bands. His own trio comprised typically of guitar, bass and drums focuses on instrumental jazz with an emphasis on group interplay. Covering a wide range of material from traditional jazz standards, interpretations of rock and folk songs as well as original compositions, expect to hear music that is dynamic, thought provoking and always feels good.
