Joshua Capri is a Vancouver based saxophonist who’s music is steeped in the tradition of the blues with a nod to hip-hop and soul. He has been influenced by saxophone greats such as Cannonball Adderley, Charlie Parker, and Stan Getz, while also drawing inspiration from the music he has played in various settings throughout his career. From playing original music at Canadian jazz festivals, to performing with Iranian pop stars, hip hop / EDM groups, and an Indian brass band, Joshua’s music is informed by a wide spectrum. His original music boasts a sound that is rhythmically sophisticated, while emphasizing a beautiful lyricism and soulfulness.
